NAIRIN BERNARDO SAID: "I’m tired of not sharing the university classroom with other blacks.".

For some reason, before entering college, I was against quotas because of things people put in our heads, that quotas aren’t necessary. And when I got to college (I study at University of São Paulo) and you sit in the classroom, you don’t see other black students and you realize that the other black people you see are cleaning the floor, they’re janitors … And these white people in the classroom (they’re cool people and many defend minorities) don’t even say good morning to the janitor. So I want black people to come to the university so I don’t feel so alone, and different, in class.
