Since we’re small we’re already judged, discriminated against by our color and our appearance, and this gets worse as we grow up. And if you’re a black, fat woman, it’s even worse … When I put my foot outside of my house I’m already being observed … I’m tired of being judged by my appearance!

I’m tired of hearing: Being fat like you are you’re never going to have a boyfriend.  Don’t you think that you’re too fat to use clothes like that? You can go out at night and walk around calmly, can’t you? Who would want to do anything with you? Why don’t you do something to calm your hair down? Wow, how do you wash that hair? Do you know how to dance? Are you in college? I thought that you were a cleaning woman …
